Getting Started
The Business Management System Selection
Assistant will take you through the proper steps to help you select the
best system for your business.
System Selection Team
We will
assist you in the assembly of a management system selection team. A selection team usually
consists of chosen personnel from sales, estimating, customer service, production,
purchasing, accounting, and other areas of your business.
Your System Requirements
Wally will help your selection team members define precise requirements based on your
business methods and needs. Your team will scored each requirement
for importance using our scoring system. Wally will gather information about your company, existing
computer systems, growth expectations, and other information.

scores. A typical Functional Requirements Document may cover the following

Request for Proposal
Wally will generate a Request For Proposal (RFP) incorporating your detail
requirements, requests for critical vendor information, and essential data for vendors to
provide a proposal,
ready for you to send to the vendors. You can print the RFP, have
suppliers complete it online, email a copy, or send a copy on
diskette.
System Finder
With the System Finder you can research our vendor database of nearly 100 suppliers of print management and manufacturing
systems to find the best match for your business. You can use
pre-defined searches are based on criteria favored by industry
professionals or create your own custom searches.
Vendor Comparisons Sheet
Once the vendors
have submitted their proposals, Wally will generate a Comparisons Sheet which compares the
responses and scores of each vendor and to how well they can meet each of your functional
requirements.
Evaluation Score Sheet
You receive an
evaluation score sheet, so your staff can rate systems during vendor demonstrations. Our
score sheet is an essential tool for documenting and tracking each vendor's ability to
meet your needs. The score sheet quickly isolates and focuses on the strengths and
weaknesses of each
package.
Vender Reference Check Questionnaire
Learning from the vendor's references is critical in your decision process. You will
receive a questionnaire for your use while interviewing each of the vendor's references.
It contains a series of questions formulated to get an objective opinion from the vendor's
customers.
Benefits
1.
You do not have to spend months learning about the capabilities of systems and vendors. It
is our business to continuously keep up with systems technology by implementing systems at
our clients, attending trade shows, receiving vendor demonstrations, researching industry
trends, and monitoring user satisfaction.
2. Eliminates the painstaking task of wading
through stacks of glossy software brochures, and software demonstrations. Avoids the need
to listen to sales pitches from vendors that do not match your needs.
3. There
are over 100 different business management systems in operation within our industry.
Global markets and merging technologies are bringing even more. Our approach eliminates
time and money wasted on looking at unqualified systems. At the same time, you will not
fail to consider a qualified package just because you have not heard of it.
4. Your people get involved in the decision
process, adding to the success of the project by producing employee "buy-in."
Everyone has a voice in the process and a stake in the decision. This improves everyone's
understanding, focus, and cooperation.
5. To speed up the Functional Requirements
definition process and avoid "blank paper" syndrome, we reference our own
database of over 800 requirements that we developed from years of experience and ideas
from previous clients.
6. The Evaluation Score Sheet quickly
isolates and focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of each package. It also helps you
document and track each vendor's ability
to meet your needs. This is important considering four vendor demonstrations can last four
days and cover over 3,000 features!
7. The Functional Requirements Document and
Evaluation Score Sheet becomes a "Yard Stick" for equally measuring the
capabilities of each system.
8. The Request for Proposal saves you
substantial time and money by quickly qualifying vendors based on their proposals and
ability to meet your needs.
9. Our simple, systematic, and structured
technique ensures a higher quality decision at a maximum speed.
10. Our proven approach will greatly reduce
your risk of failure!
